Well, I need to make about 300 dollars in a little over a week. I’ve been out of a job for about a month and I start a new one pretty soon, but I need some money between now and my start date. (A little over a week) I’m willing to do just about anything, so does anyone have any ideas?

You might be able to do some "odd jobs" like day laborers do. Yes I know this seems crazy but if you really need the money you could/would do anything.
My partner did construction jobs to make ends meet when he was younger and he is a born U.S. citizen. Money is money and if you can do little odd jobs here and there you might make those 300 dollars.
Go to Craigslist.com or your local paper. Its easier than most think. Good luck!
And by the way there are risks with using craigslist. A girl got killed going to a babysitting gig. Well the guy that posted it wasn’t a family man but a psycho killer. So be careful!

There should be no problems at all. Is your account in Australia an Australian dollar account or a U.S. dollar account? You might be able to get a better rate of exchange if you send it in U.S. dollars. Banks are different with their policies and procedures. I would check with your bank in the U.S. to really answer your question. But I don’t think it will be a problem at all.

Hey im 13 and i’m trying to save up some money to buy a mac in the summer. I’m earning 120 dollars in the summer. How can i earn close to a thousand dollars before the summer to help save up for my mac?
I am going to tell you honestly that you CAN earn $1,000 by summer but can also tell you that it’s not going to be easy. There are parents making good money that can’t seem to raise $1,000 in a year of "extra" money in savings and often find themselves using credit cards in order to get access to things that they would like to have but can’t afford. This does not mean to give up before you try… it means try at all odds for success. There have been businesses started by kids that have produced alot of income just working part time but working to find needs that people have and filling them. Right now is a good time to concentrate on spring and summer needs that people have… older and disabled people can’t plant flowers but you can! You can spread mulch, pull weeds, sell products like gazing balls and lawn ornaments and such. Talk to a local hardware or garden store about selling products for them online and around the neighborhood. Know your products and know your customers. Ask for additional jobs and referrals to their family, friends and co-workers. Good news travels fast. You may get to the point of referrals when you don’t have to pull a single weed. You can act as a resource for your friends to do the work and you make "commissions." If you think outside the box, it will be easy to make the money you want but realize it’ll take time and focus. Check out the library for books like "Fast Cash for Kids" by Bonnie & Noel Drew as well as other books. And ya know as you build up ideas of what you can do for money, you may be able to write your own book. Don’t give up. The right opportunity is out there for YOU. When you know what you want to do, work on a business plan to show your parents. You will need their help but they’ll be glad to give it in exchange for tax deductions. How otherwise would one prudently purchase another countries currency.
Given what is happening in our Fed Res. right now, our dollars are becoming worth less and less. How can one protect one’s savings safely from this problem?

There ARE things one could do in your situation to get that sort of money — such as prostitution or selling drugs — but they are EXTREMELY bad ideas, and I don’t advise doing them.
I think the best thing to do would be to wait until you are old enough to get a "legit" job. That is FAR safer.
For those of you who like broker recommendations you will be interested to see what the brokers have been saying about the Oil and Mining fraternity.
I tend to look at trades from a spread trading point of view i.e. trades that I plan to keep open from anywhere between 1 and 30 days. The analysts are looking at shares and therefore looking at longer terms trends. It seems clear that they think that prices across the board will remain high.
Real long-term investors will no doubt see a few ups and downs but they are in it for the long game. They are investing in yield, prospects, growth etc.
So looking at a handful of recommendations of companies currently in the FTSE 350 there is:
JKX Oil and Gas. Goldmans Sachs have gone from Neutral to Buy. Likewise Jonathan Copus of Deutsche has increased his JKX target price from 580p to 755p.
Kazakhmys. Robery Clifford, also of Deutsche, has upgraded Kazakhmys from Hold to Buy with a new target price up from 1820p to 1900p.
Jonathan Copus has also increased his Cairn Energy (Buy) target from 3235p to 4290p and his Tullow Oil (Buy) target from 1070p to 1490p.
Elsewhere in mining and oil analysts have recently said: Premier Oil (Buy), Volga Gas (Buy), Imperial Energy (Neutral), Bunzl (from Hold to Buy) and Antofagasta (Buy).
But why? Far East growth may simply still outstrip any downturn in the West. That and the Supply / Demand equation often fails to work quickly with commodities. Supply is very difficult to increase and demand is almost impossible to decrease, at least in the short and medium term.
But what to do and what is the best way to trade? Well like the adverts say, if in doubt seek independent financial advice. As usual the best way of protecting your funds is not to trade. Apart from that common advice is to have a diversified portfolio. In this case perhaps a range of the oil and mining stocks rather than one or two.
Another way of looking at the data is to read that the brokers do not think that the current high commodities prices are just in a bubble. So with companies like FinancialSpreads.com or World Spreads you can easily gain exposure to the commodities themselves. These spread betting companies will let you bet on crude oil, natural gas, heating oil, copper, silver, gold, platinum, etc. Although as with all leveraged investments, you do need to be careful with spread betting. Also note that most commodities are priced in US Dollars and therefore the markets will often move purely on exchange rate data.
Spread betting carries a high level of risk to your funds. You can lose more than you initially invest. It may not suit all investors. Only speculate with funds that you can afford to lose. Ensure you understand the risks and seek independent financial advice if and when necessary.

the only idea it comes to my mind is going to "Moteles" those are paid by hours and tend to be cheaper than hotels, most of though are in the outside of the cities, the cost is around 20 usd and can be rented by 12 hours tops. Some are much better than regular cheap hotels
